There are various misconceptions about the glam industry ranging from being a “too easy profession” to being sure about getting a successful career right after the success of a film. While there have been numerous instances when the Bollywood celebrities shot to immense fame and popularity right after their debut film, but there have been such cases as well where despite being a part of a breakthrough film as a debut, the stars were not able to establish their careers and faded to oblivion. The Bollywood industry has been one of the most unpredictable industries where careers can be made or break within a second. While some emerged out as recognizable actors, the other talents got left unnoticed. Though we still wish to see more of these actors and truly pray that they could bag more successful projects in their kitty, let’s scroll through the list of the actors who despite getting a good break in the industry, failed to establish themselves amongst the top-notch actors of the Industry:

Mahie Gill

The Bollywood actress Mahie Gill stepped into the industry as Paro from Anurag Kashyap’s critically acclaimed movie – DevD. Represented as the modern Paro from Devdas, this actress was highly praised for her brilliant performance right in her debut film. After appearing in some parallel roles, the actress was still not able to emerge herself as one of the finest actresses of the industry and remains one of the most underrated actresses of the industry. After being a lead in DevD, Mahie was offered some supporting roles in films like – Dabanng series, Durgamati, etc. but was not able to get a hold of some bigger projects. Her performance in the web series – Apharan also became one of the lovable performances amongst the audiences. While Bollywood didn’t recognize a gem they had, her talents were accepted open-heartedly in the Punjabi movies.

Paoli Dam

This Indian actress predominantly works in the Bengali cinema. After having a good career in Bengali films, the actress decided to make her mark in the Bollywood industry with the film – Hate Story. She played the character of Kavyah Krishnan which was loved by the audiences and made the movie a great success amongst the audiences. However, despite making an appearance in a good project, the actress faded from the industry and after years grabbed the role of Binodhini in the film – Bulbbul. While we again fell in love with the performance of the actress, let’s hope she gets more good projects in the industry!

Patralekha Paul

This Indian film actress made her stunning entry into the industry with the successful film – Citylights in 2014. However, despite the tremendous success of her first film and getting the Screen Award for Best Female Debut for the same, the actress was not able to establish a firm career in the Bollywood industry and faded to oblivion. After appearing in as many as 3 to 4 films so far and a handful of web series, the actress failed to create an impression in the industry.

Sonal Chauhan

Now, who doesn’t recognize this actress!? Well, the first thought that runs through our minds after hearing the name of this actress is her brilliant performance in the debut film Jannat alongside actor Emraan Hashmi. While the various songs and classic proposing scenes still happen to be one of the most talked-about works in the industry, she was not able to bag much success in Bollywood. With a brief career and few films in her kitty, the actress soon marked her way out from the glam industry.

Rajat Barmecha

While you might scratch your heads for how this actor has transformed over the years, his performance in the debut movie – Udaan remains one of the best works in Indian cinema. In 2010 for his brilliant performance in the film, the actor was embraced with the award for Best Male Debut. While we all thought that this might be the introduction of a new rising star in the industry, the actor broke the hopes and hearts of people with his declining career. Despite being a prominent part of such a brilliant creation the actor could not bag any good projects in his career.

Vivaan Shah

After appearing as a newbie in the industry with the successful Priyanka Chopra starrer film, 7 Khoon Maaf, Vivaan could certainly have been the new shining star in Bollywood. Right after his appearance in 2011, the actor bagged another prominent role in the film Happy New Year alongside various popular actors of the industry. However, it looks like things were not in favor of the actor and his career declined in the industry.

Tahir Raj Bhasin

We still remember the uneasy grin on his face from the movie Mardaani which was enough to create a chill down our spines! Right!? Marking his debut as Karan “Walt” Rastogi alongside actress Rani Mukerjee, his strong performance as a lead and villainous character in the movie raised the standards for the modern villains. While we all expected him to perform better in the future, the actor shocked us all by getting only a handful of projects in his kitty. Portraying a challenging role right at the start of his career was something that made him count amongst one of the underrated actors of the industry.

Gul Panag

This cute dimpled actress started her career with the Peehu A. Verma film, Dhool in 2003. After getting some heart-touching scripts for films like – Dor and Manorama Six Feet Under, the actress failed to prove herself in the industry and even went on to mark her way out from the industry by getting inclined towards social works.

Gulshan Devaiah

Making a strong impact on the industry with his debut film, That Girl in Yellow Boots, the Bollywood actor Gulshan Devaiah caught the attention of people by grasping some other classic projects. With a set of impeccable performances in movies like – Shaitan,Hunter, Hate Story, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Dum Maaro Dum, etc. the actor was not able to make him count amongst the top-notch actors of the industry. His true dedication and hard work were something that went ignored by the Bollywood industry. Yet another talent that got wasted upon!

Imaad Shah

You might be surprised that this actor is the son of classic actors – Ratna Pathak and Naseeruddin Shah! While his parents have a long spanning and a bright career in the industry, his son failed to create his magic in the industry. After starting his journey with the film – Yun Hota Toh Kya Hote, the actor was only able to bag a few films in the industry. Let’s hope that he also gets the same recognition as his parents!
